Tim Ballard’s work in anti-trafficking began with more than a decade as a Special Agent with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. During this time, he worked undercover as part of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, infiltrating child trafficking rings in the United States and abroad. Ballard would sometimes assume the role of a trafficker or pedophile in order to gather the evidence necessary to secure arrests.
His undercover work was central to building prosecutable cases. Over his ten-year tenure, Ballard played a significant role in operations that dismantled numerous child trafficking organizations across multiple countries. This experience as a government operative provided him with a unique skill set and a deep, practical understanding of how child trafficking networks operate.
In 2013, Ballard left his government position to found a nonprofit organization focused on rescuing children from sex trafficking, believing that a private organization could act more quickly and flexibly than was possible within government constraints. His efforts eventually led to the creation of the Tim Ballard Foundation (TBFrescue.org). Several highlights of his operations were the subject of the international hit movie, “Sound of Freedom.”
More recently, Ballard’s rescue work took him to southern Syria, where Christian and Druze communities were under severe threat from Islamist extremist groups. Ballard and his team were the first Americans to enter the besieged city of Sweida to assess conditions on the ground. The intelligence gathered during this mission—at considerable personal risk—was later used by U.S. leadership, including the Trump administration, to help facilitate humanitarian support corridors for survivors.
Below is an examination of an excruciating challenge Tim continues to face. As you’ll surmise from these notes, allegations that climaxed about 2 years ago point to a profoundly orchestrated effort by some to a) capitalize on the success of “The Sound of Freedom” (movie) and/or b) eliminate any possibility of Tim’s political future.
Despite the fallout caused by this extraordinarily dark campaign, by the grace of God, Tim has never been busier and more influential in his work as a worldwide consultant and leader in the rescue of innocent children from trafficking.
